What specific qualifications do I need to operate a Youthland Academy?
Requirements to be named to the license as the “Director” or “Administrator” are determined by your state’s child daycare licensing agency. Generally, the Director must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college. Many states require a degree or associated degree specific to early childhood education or elementary education. Other states may require only a certain number of college credits in early childhood related classes.
Why should I consider a franchised child care service like Youthland Academy?
A franchise is the ideal combination of a large organization and small personalized ownership. Owners of individual child care centers are burdened with details ranging from marketing, demographic studies to determine location, designing a curriculum and equipping the center, just to name a few. Large child care chains often lose the personal attention to quality that an owner/manager gives. A franchise gives you the best of both – your own business with all the services of a large corporation.
How is the Youthland Academy child care program different than others?
We are proud of our many special features. Most important is our personal approach. We have a fully developed system of communication which allows parents to share in their child’s day at our Academies. Children and parents are getting more than just “babysitting” and they can feel the difference. Our educational programs are excellent and fun! Our positive approach to all facets of a child’s development is rewarding to our students, their parents and our Academy staff.
Will I need to have a school facility built?
No, unlike some other child care businesses, Youthland Academy recognizes that the heart of a good child care is the care – not a fancy building. We have an architect’s plans available if you choose to build, but there are many excellent alternatives which may allow you to provide quality care without the high overhead costs of building a building.
How many children will an average Academy care for? Can my business continue to grow?
The number of children will vary from Academy to Academy determined by the size of the facility. We suggest an average enrollment of 150 – 225 children. At this level, your Academy is large enough to operate profitably, but small enough to remain personal.
Youthland was founded during the infancy of the child care concept expansion in the early 1980’s. Over the past several decades, Youthland has grown with the industry to meet the demands of today’s families. As a franchisee, we will keep you up to date on the newest trends in child care. For example, one option for a Youthland Academy franchisee is to operate an on-site child care facility for a large corporate employer or hospital.
What financial documents will I need to provide Youthland Academy?
You will need to provide your Youthland Academy representative with three months of banking statements and allow us to run a credit check. You will also need to disclose immediately any bankruptcies.
How much money can I earn from my Youthland Academy?
With a Youthland Academy franchise, you own your own business. Each situation is different, and we cannot project or guarantee a certain income. You will be provided with a suggested business plan and monthly spreadsheet, but you are in control of your own business’s spending reports.
